  • Broccoli
  • Salmon
  • Shrimp
  • Pasta
  • Shallot
  • Cream
  • Parsley
  • Parmigiano Reggiano cheese

How to Make Salmon and Shrimp Pasta

Step 1 – Cook the pasta according to the directions on the packaging. Add the broccoli florets the last 3 minutes of cooking time.

Drain and reserve some pasta water.

Step 2 – Heat oil in a skillet and add finely chopped shallot and garlic paste and saute until translucent or caramelized. I prefer crispy onion as you can see in the image.

Season shrimp and salmon with salt & pepper and add to the skillet. Cook until seafood is done and let rest.

  • Step 3 – Add cream to skillet, as well as cheese, stir until cheese is melted in cream.
  • Step 4 – Add pasta and broccoli and stir until all is coated. Add a squeeze of lemon juice and salt & pepper to taste.
  • Step 5 – Break salmon into pieces and add to skillet, together with shrimp. Mix carefully. If the mixture is too thick, add some pasta water.
  • Step 6 – Plate and sprinkle with finely chopped parsley.

Ingredients

  • 5 ounces broccoli cut in florets
  • 4 ounces pasta shape of your choice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 shallot finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste (NOTE 1)
  • 4 ounces salmon
  • 4 ounces shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/4 cup Parmigiano Reggiano cheese grated
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • salt & pepper
  • 2 tablespoons parsley finely chopped

Instructions

Notes

  1. 1 teaspoon of garlic paste can be replace by 1 clove of garlic.
  2. I have a personal preference for caramelized onions as they add a little bit more flavor and crunch. They also add a color of brown specks to the dish.
