Key Ingredients in This Recipe:
You’ll find the complete list of ingredients and exact quantities in the recipe below.
- Plums
- Pastry dough
- Sugar
How to Make the Upside Down Plum Pie
- Step 1 – Thaw the pastry dough according the direction on the packaging and cut out a circle, using the skillet as your guide. Cut is just a little bit larger than the skillet as the pastry dough will shrink a little during baking.
- Step 2 – Transfer the sugar to an oven-safe skillet.
- Step 3 – Sliced the plums thinly (keep the skin on) and arrange them on top of the sugar. Arrange the plum slices the way you like; circular, horizontal or vertical rows, skin up (this may require thicker slices and more plums).
- Step 4 – Place the dough circle directly on top of the fruit slices and slide the skillet in the oven.
- Step 5 – Bake for 15-20 minutes in a 400 degrees F.
- Step 6 – Place an inverted plate on top of the skillet and flip it over. Remove the plate carefully, making sure that every plum sliced stays on the pie and not stick to the plate.
- Step 7 – Allow the pie to cool and ENJOY!
